Tattoo ideas?

I'm 26 years old and I've wanted a tattoo for years. The only reason I haven't had one done yet is because I can't decide where and what I want.

I don't want to just pick something random. Here is a list of the things I love and have thought about using somehow in a tattoo:

Four-leaf clovers
Tulips
Dragonflies
The Beatles
Books
Cats

Those are pretty much my favorite things (obsessions) in life. What I would like from you:

Any ideas of how I could make any of those things into a cute (little) tattoo? I would like to use more than one color. Pictures would be super helpful.

Also, where should I get that tattoo? I'm working out and trying to loose weight...so I don't want to put it somewhere that is going to look all weird when Iose weight. I'd PREFER it to be on my foot somewhere (not the ankle) so maybe something that would look good there?

Thanks!!

  3. I think you shouldn't get a tattoo just to get a tattoo. If there is something you really like and would like to put it on your body, then I think that is cool and more power to you. But getting a tattoo just because isn't really what tattoos are all about.

  4. I already have one in my lower back which I got when I was 16 I am 24 now. I am getting a small outlined star in white in my wrist. You can consider doing it in the wrist. Best way to hide it if you are going to an interview or for work...a bracelet. =)

  6. Okay, I sped read through your questions and this is first image I got.

A book, cover side laying down, with flowers (tulips and clovers and whatever you want) growing from it, with dragonflies circling above.

Like it's coming out of the pages of the book. You could do that on the top of your foot perhaps...

  8. Get something you wont regret and will be able to show without embarassment later on.
    Never get anyones name.
And if you don't want to show them at all times, pick a place like your back, where you can hide the tattoo incase you were say in a wedding or something.

  9. oh my! perfect timing! a girl I know just got a tattoo, and hers looks amazing, i'm pretty sure it would work for you too1
    Okay....
first it's on her left foot, where her toes meet the foot. She has three or four stars, one larger one (about the size of a quarter) and two or three smaller ones around it. It's in the corner of her foot where the pinky toe hits that bone that sticks out) it's in light purole and really cute !

  12. Well, this is one I am glad to help with as I have helped several other friends with their tattoos. Respect and love for books and The beetles is great, but I honestly think that neither of those would be well integrated into any design that would look remarkable. Also, with a cat I once again love cats myself, but its going to be difficult for a cat to be very well portrayed in a small tattoo, unless it is more like a relief image (solid image of the head with hollow eyes or something like that). With that, the other issue, and this is not something I could help you with as it is a preference thing on your part.... is if you want it to be an attempt at a true-to-life form or a stylized image. Some ideas would include a cat head like I mentioned before, a group of three tulip flowers with a dragonfly buzzing above, or a larger dragonfly with perhaps flowers or the clovers imposed into each of the 4 wings. Those are my thoughts some suggestions if you feel you want some more information you are welcome to e-mail me, sorry if it was a bit long-winded.

  13. First problem I see is indecision. This is your tat & it should have a reason for being there. If it means nothing to you, it won't for anyone else either ! You don't want to tell people you tatted a "Flying Penis", on your forehead because some Snapperhead on the internet thought it'd be neat. I got my 1st in LA in1984- age 18. I already had it decided about 7th grade. I've got 3/4 sleeve on R side & 1/2 sleeve on the R. Don't be a follower because you saw 1 on TV when you were a kid.! Noone is going to take responsibility if you don't like your tat. Don't let someone's pal with a new outfit practice on you. Find a shop with an artist you like, and maybe ask if you can hang out a bit. You may find "your ink" on someone else. The worst thing you could do is not learn at least a little about the people, their equipment, Sterilizing methods, and some newer shops have after-care flyers & products. Don't be a nuisance but by all means ask questions. I don't think I know anyone who stopped at 1. SO, be careful what you're wishing for. They always put a bit of COME-BACK in the ink. JOKE!!
