How do I become a Tattoo art designer?

Hello everyone, I'v always loved tattoo's and I'm currently going to school and I'm one of the best artist. I noticed that every tattoo shop has a book or catalog of tattoo's that where desinged by other artist, not necessarily "tattoo artist". How do I become involved in the Tattoo designing industry?

  1. See if you can be an apprentice at one of your local tat shops. That way you can learn while watching and you can make up your own book of Flash to circulate.

  4. you just start drawing tattoos and selling them to people, get your name out there, stand out, and they'll come to you if your that good. most artists will not help you btw, they wanna be the only good artists.

  5. If you have an eye for art or if you see things in multiple different ways you have it.

  6. Practice, more practice, and make yourself known. Show a confident, outgoing personality and you will get far.

  7. Flash art and splash pages.
The best way is to take some of your art to a local shop. Tattoo art is a bit different than most art. You will want to work in pen so you can get clean sharp lines, and not too intricate as ink bleeds on the skin. Also the size and complexity of the piece is a factor. Most shops sell by the page (if they are interested in your art, and think it will tattoo and sell well)
